Tomato Lake in Kewdale will provide the perfect location for people to come together and support Organ Donation Awareness week. The 3 kilometre walk will take place this Sunday the 28th of February, starting at 8am.

The walk has been organised by The Federal Member for Swan Steve Irons, and the Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop will also attend.

"The walk will provide a perfect opportunity to chat about organ donation, while at the same time encouraging each other to register," Mr Irons said

"The bottom line is organ donation saves lives, one organ and tissue donor can save up to ten people's lives."

"Australia has one of the lowest donation rates in the developed world and part of the problem is the myths associated with organ donation that turn people off the idea."

Steve Irons said it is an important issue for all Australians and we need to be pro-active and register to be an organ donor.
